Bareback Gloves

CLG is proud to have the support and advice of Wayne Herman, World Champion Bareback Rider.  Wayne Herman is a talented professional cowboy, who is both knowledgeable and selective when it comes to the equipment he uses to make a living.

wayneherman.gif (8546 bytes) Wayne Herman says ... "To a bareback rider, a glove is more than an accessory - it is a critical part of every successful ride.  The heavy leather necessary to protect your hand and get the right bind ... must still fit and 'give' enough so that you have maximum strength in your grip.  Few (if any) come ready to ride and a perfect fit.  Look for tight grain, consistently even leather, and learn how to 'custom fit' the glove to your hand (the #570 glove kit sold below can be very helpful).   I'm very particular about my gloves because they do make a difference!"

CLG PRO GLOVES are America's premier glove!

CLG originated and developed the long-wristed PRO glove over two decades ago.   The concept of a long-wristed glove with added support was first marketed commercially by CLG!  Frequently copies, but seldom equaled, the CLG PRO remains the dominant glove in rodeo arenas throughout the country.

All rough-stock gloves available in sizes 7 - 10½ (in half size increments).   Be sure to specify the size you wear as well as right (RT) or left (LT) hand.   All gloves are fully welted for strength and durability.  All bull riders' gloves have reinforcing patch double-stitched at thumb stress area.  Most bull riders' gloves are sewn inseam for smooth, snug fit with maximum feel.  All bareback gloves have a sewn out seam and generally speaking are manufactured from heavier leather for a firmer, stiffer feel that wears longest.  Lighter leathers are used for bull riding gloves.  They allow more "feel" and flexibility, but do not wear as long.  Color applies to any color other than the "natural/usual" color associated with a specific hide.

WAYNE HERMAN CUSTOM SELECT
SUPER PRO BAREBACK GLOVE

This special design has the features that Wayne insists on for his personal gloves.  Premium leather is critical.   Firm, NO stretch, but enough "give" to conform to your hand.  All fingers are cut on the long side, and the index and small finger are oversized as well to allow for palm piece and to optimize back bind.  Wayne's signature is your assurance of quality and value.  Available in even sizes 7 through 10.

#CLG-50 Wayne Herman Bareback Glove $75.99

CLG BAREBACK GLOVES

The new CLG Pro Bareback Glove is designed specifically for bareback riders.   It has a heavy, firm steer hide palm that accepts rosin and benzoin exceptionally well.  Flat "lap" construction on the back of the index finger seam.

#CLG-50 Wayne Herman Bareback Glove $75.99
#CLG-52 CLG Lace Up Bareback Glove $54.99
#CLG-55 CLG Super Pro Bareback Glove $39.99
#CLG-53 CLG Slip Up Bareback Glove $39.95

JUNIOR PRO GLOVES

This fine glove is patterned after the CLG Pro long-wrist riding glove -- the original and most widely copied glove on the market today.  Our junior gloves are made from lightweight leather that maintains toughness but allows much better grip and feel than heavier leathers.  They're durable, good-fitting and take rosin well.   Available in extra small, small, and medium.  Be sure to indicate size.

#CLG-59 Junior Pro Glove $16.99
#CLG-59W Junior Pro Glove with Wrap $18.99

CLG GLOVE THONGS AND POWER WRAP

Although the CLG Power Wrap is very popular, the glove thong is still preferred by top pros and rodeo hands across the nation -- especially for bareback riding.

#CLG-521 Regular 42" Glove Thong $5.19
#CLG-522 Extra Long 60" Glove Thong $6.19
#CLG-523 CLG Power Wrap $5.59
#CLG-591 Junior Power Wrap $4.69

CLG BAREBACK & BULL RIDERS' GLOVE KIT

This is a complete kit with enough materials to install up to four palm pieces -- an important job for every bareback rider.  Bull riders and bareback riders can use the special leather needles and thread to tighten seams or take tucks in the glove back for that "second skin" fit and feel.

#CLG-570 CLG Glove Kit $39.99

1995 World Champion Bull Rider Jerome Davis preferred to buy gloves on the tight side ... then to apply rubbing alcohol to the back side of the glove while wearing it to give him that custom fit.
