Dakota Saddles

Take a deep seat and gait that horse! Walking and racking horses are smooth and fast to ride, but not in the wrong saddle. If you think your horse is good now, wait till you ride in this 750 walker made especially to help gaited horses hold their best. Black seems to be a favorite, but you can choose almost any color you like. This saddle is oiled from the Golden Brown color.

The fit of the seat rivals the best feeling deep seated show saddles. With a gentle rise in front, the walking horse saddle makes a great pleasure saddle for trail riding. A top grain seat and smooth leather is standard. This saddle has a rust suede seat that is almost smooth from riding & conditioning. Smooth side out on the fenders and jockeys. This 750 is shown with rear silver conchos with dees. (Dees under the conchos are available in front too.) Front breast collar dees come standard. These BC dees are the standard Plated steel.  Girth rings are stainless steel.

A better than standard synthetic fleece is on this saddle.  Corner basket tooling pattern.  The stirrup adjustments should fit most adult riders.  Cultured Cowboy works hard to make an ordinary saddle, offered from another store, into an extraordinary value for you! WE have added a good coat of Lexol conditioner & Extra Virgin Olive Oil to ready the saddle for riding. 

We don't know the origins of this saddle. It seems to have been well rode & well taken care of. Seat padding is in good shape. No holes in seat. No abuse anywhere. You can tell by the seat & original stirrups, that this saddle has been enjoyed by someone for a lot of good times. It's ready for more! 

Horn is tight. Tree was also conditioned. A couple nicks on the front of the pommel. The coloration is because we just conditioned it. Looks pretty good, huh!  Rigging is still strong.

Stirrup leathers are both in good shape. We put new clip & dees on the rear conchos.

If you want 2 or 4 more clip & dees for saddle strings, or bags, or other tack, we can add those for you before shipping.

Cleaned up real nice.

Stitching is good all over.

Leather tie straps on both sides. 

Synthetic Bottom fleece is clean. It has been pressed down through age, but no thin spots.  Use your favorite pad & you'll be fine.

Here you can see the fleece bottom. Skirting leather is in fine condition. 

A couple surface knicks on the front pommel can be seen. t

When we conditioned the saddle, one side of the pommel absorbed a lot more color than the other side from the extra virgin olive oil.

This will moderate over time.

Cantle roll is in good shape - no loosening. 

Off side is as nice as the near side.

Notice the stirrups are already turned for your foot positioning. 

Stirrups do show some wear on the inside, but are easliy good for many more miles! 

The lacing is not broken.

We added new stirrup hobble straps. 

Now you can see the seat. 


It began as rust colored suede. Cultured Cowboy conditioned the seat along with the tree, and all leather inside & out.

A previous owner obviously used neatsfoot oil on the seat to lessen the hold of suede. 

The stains will not go away.

I sat in the saddle. Still comfy. 

This is going to make someone a good saddle. Well taken care of.  After all, Walking & Racking Horses are used for trail rides, and riding around the farm to inspect our livestock & fencing. Another use is in field trials & some hunting on horseback.
