Cashel Bell Boots
Bell boots are made to fall over the coronary band at the top of the hoof. The protection for bulbs, coronet and heels of shoes is substantial. I prefer a separate bell boot from splint, or sports medicine boot because of the easier articulation on a performance horse. I have especially found bell boots worth their weight in gold when getting to a show and finding that my colt has stepped on his other foot and I have a veterinary problem that will cause non-ridability for a month or two. Don't let this happen to you! Cashel offers three choices: neoprene, a stretch over rubber, and a hook & loop fastening rubber. Hoof protection must have heavy duty hook & loop closure, or stretch to reflect back tight enough to stay in place during performance.
