add conditioner till they get that favorite shade of
brown.

Use
Lexol to condition, and a matching color cream
polish to renew color. A moderate rain will not hurt
them. Even mud and manure will wash off, and the
boot can take it. If wet, allow them to dry at room
temperature, then just add another coat of
conditioner. Leather balm is a good
cleaner/conditioner too. Mink Oil or Snow Seal
make good protective water resistant topcoats.
