Old West Pants
High waisted and made for your galluses, these "Old West" pants are a favorite of anyone who likes the Western re-enactments and Cowboy Days. Saddle pants have the look of an extra "wear" layer, but it is actually sewn into the pant, rather than overlayed, for more comfort. If you need to guess your sizing, go a size or two larger than your jeans. The waist is higher. Measure at your belly button. The back belt is used to fine tune your fit.. 

Why so many Western pants?  Most "Cowboy Shooting" events are a 3 day weekend commitment. Ya can't wear the same 1 outfit all the time. (Although trail dust is quite popular.) Most guys get the basic brown Frontier pant 1st. Then a black pair for the Sat nite party. Then something quite different, like the railhead, or a saddle pant. Next comes a variety of color, or style. 

Care:  Your biggest problem might be "To starch, or not to starch; that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler..." These pants are all easy wash and wear for the cottons. Dry clean for the wools. Turning pants inside out will help with color retention. Washing without turning will give a worn look faster. Depends on your mood. If I have had a roll in the mud, I like to hand wash the worst places (some call it pre-treat) before all that crud goes in my machine.  Even pre-washed cottons will draw a little when washed, and stretch a little after some wear. (Nature of a natural fabric). Starch is relative. I always starch & iron mine to keep the dust and dirt easier to clean back off. Extra heavy will allow that military crease so popular with George Strait. But in the 1890's, "starched to stand alone" was not known so much. 

You're a cowboy. Wear spurs. This will keep the hems from "walking under ". Wahmaker pants are listed at 36 inches, this will vary from 35.5 to 36.5. Don't know why, "just is". To re-hem, call Chuck. I'll walk you through the process.  For $10.00 we will shorten them for you to your desired length.; NO RETURNS on pants that have been altered, even if we do it for you. (YOU SEE THIS VISA? M/C? DISC?  AX?). 

Baggy butt? Creases in the front?  These are authentic Old West Pants, not Levi slim fit. They replicate the authenticity of styling Levy Straus and his buds had in their time. The adjustable back belt is to pull to size, just as the ribbon in a Stetson hat was made to pull tight to fit a head when ole John B started his hat company. We call this fit a reg leg, relaxed body, fit in some of today's jeans. The more you clean stalls, break colts, pull calves and push farming/ranching, the better these will fit. And, the more functional they become. ( Real Cowgirls see a lot more to sexy than how tight you wear your pants!)  - enjoy.

Speaking of real cowgirls, Cultured Cowboy has begged for plus sized or women's pant sizing. At this time, you will still need to use a men's pant or get a seamstress and the heaviest cotton duck at your fabric store. Or, fit your hips, and have the seamstress dart to your waist. . 

All This said ...  Post Covid, there are still shortages and outages. Wahmaker is doing all they can for you & so is Cultured Cowboy.  We just sold some more pants and went to replace them - Cost about what they sold for.  Doesn't matter.
