Wearing
the correct Western glove is important. It must fit,
and allow you to feel, as well as function for your
sport. Without "touch", you cannot perform
as you should. Cultured Cowboy sells gloves from 4
different makers, but for Western riding, SSG Gloves
are the best for most people. The fingers are fitted
correctly, and the wear points are reinforced to
last. Sizing allows you to find a good fit, no
matter whether your hands are large or small.
Roping, or pleasure riding, your choice will be
worth the money and time you invest. The rougher the
use, the more important it is to have a spare.
For most
sports, using the rough stock rider's trick of
breaking in even the spare glove through practice,
then keeping it in your gear bag, or tack trunk,
will assure good performance, should your primary
glove "blow out" at a show.
There are
benefits to you with each style, and seasons or
weather conditions of changing climates will
sometimes require having more than one style,
especially if you travel all over the nation with
your riding. I like to keep my performance gloves as
a separate pair than my working gloves. But you
already know your needs and conditions.
