CULTURED COWBOY PRESENTS

Dakota Saddles

A secure seated barrel racing saddle with acorn and oak leaf tooling. This is a popular combination of rawhide trim on braided horn, cantle roll, and laced stirrups. Choose either bleached white rawhide or natural rawhide. Shown with Engraved Silver highlighted trim. The seat below is black suede. We can offer the latest in ostrich print seats, Caiman alligator, or bright leathers.

At first, we may wonder why anyone would want an exotic seat; but after having seen several in action, first perhaps it's the excitement of "new", but riders do well in them! The slightly raised full quill marks of ostrich give just the right amount of "stick to me", still in a smooth leather format.

For those who prefer the traditional, this saddle is built on a semi-quarterhorse frame. If your horse requires, it can be built on a full quarterhorse tree. If you like high tech, it is available with a full flex tree. Although we've been racing on semi bars for 50 years, many people feel an advantage in the flex tree on a gymkhana saddle. Could cut split-seconds that make you money!

The skirts are rounded designed to give a horse lots of freedom. In-skirt rigging lays close to the horse, so does your leg. The drop cover is designed to allow your stirrup strap & fender to flow effortlessly, without binding onto the girth tie strap, as you compete.

Stirrup leathers are designed to give you much freedom of movement when needed. PLEASE, call us with your true inseam. Stand flat on the floor with no boots on. Measure from your crotch to the floor. That is the inseam we need...not necessarily your jean size! This way, the legging system can be built to fit your needs. There is nothing worse than having to cut down the fenders and jockey, or having huge bulk under your leg, after you get your saddle. Let us get it right for you at the start.

Conchos with dees allow you to put those strings on for the trail ride, and take 'em off for the arena work. People usually like the feel of this deep seat on long rides. This barrel racer saddle is a great NBHA prospect as well as NHSRA.  Oh yeah, you can reverse the leather for a rough-out finish, or half breed finish, with no extra charges! You can even order it with square skirts.

Saddles

This saddle (left & below) is trimmed with Natural Rawhide rather than the bleached white. Dakota's newest silver trim is on the horncap, conchos, and flank slot cover. Shown with optional Stainless Steel Breast collar dees set high on the skirt.

We prefer stainless Breast collar dees and girth attachments. Horse sweat travels onto these two vital areas. The sweat corrodes nickel plated hardware much faster than stainless. And when the nickel hardware corrodes, it rots out your leather skirts. - very expensive to repair!

hWith the fender raised, you see how your girth C-Plate is attached to your skirt. Solid copper rivets are used to hold fast your stress points.

A better view of the silver trim shows the engraving & rope border. The stitching around the skirt is white. Our customer could choose black thread or the white.

Here you can see the density and height of the Heavy Duty Synthetic Fleece bottom.  And a good view of the back of your cantle. Rear skirts are leather laced, not sewn on this model. By doing this, we give a little more flexibility in the skirts, thus more comfortable movement for turning poles & barrels.
What's really important is what is under your seat.
Dakota is smart enough to use some of the best saddle seat foams for your comfort. Yet, if you've ever had injury to your lower back, messed up coccyx bone, or any scoliosis, let us know. - There's special seat foam which could make night & day's difference in your comfort while riding.
Your skirts are attached to your saddle tree the way they're supposed to be. No slackness at the pommel / gullet areas! And the braiding on your horn is tightly plaited too. This reduces the twisting & loosening you find with most lower quality saddles.

Our Price:

Our CC Prices are Too Low To Advertise.  Dakota requested that we not post our actual delivered prices.   We will deliver more saddle value for the buck than anyone; because, we know more about riding, and fitting saddles than most! (No brag, just fact!)

Really, with all the many options available, these saddles are hard to price without a conversation anyway.   Thanks, Chuck

And don't forget about a matching breast collar with your saddle! Cultured Cowboy carries a full complement of tack and accessories for you and your horse.
