Endurance Saddles
What
is a trail saddle, anyway? It is a saddle you expect to feel
comfortable when you are in that seat for long hours at a time.
The
endurance type saddles are pretty well known as trail saddles
without horns. If you need to hang on, there is a place for your
hand both over and under the pommel that is actually more secure
than hanging onto a horn. With the endurance racing, there are 25
mile competitive rides, through 100 milers. The test is to
complete with a healthy and safe finish. So, a saddle that can be
run beside and ridden inside is important. The
"endurance" type padded flat stirrups shown allow ease
of mounting and dismounting. Placement of the girth is important.
Centerfire type rigs are used to allow the girth to be moved
rather than rubbing a girth gall from staying in one place for so
long. Rings and strings allow you to tie on plenty of bags, water
bottles, and necessities. To complement this riding, Cashel
is great with all the accessories you might require. Yep. we sell
all that too. Click here!
The material Dakota uses for padding our
Cultured Cowboy saddle seat is not cheap carpet foam like
many of the other "value priced" saddle
brands out
there. Oh yeah, and there is no pressed paper lining
the skirts where leather is supposed to be. The
finished top layer will not peel off, because there
are not lots of 1/16 inch thin layers glued together.
You get real leather! Years from now, you will enjoy
the same comfort as when the saddle was new.
This one is shown
with barbed wire border tooling, and with trail rings attached to the
tree for
holding all your gear. More rings are also available. Choose suede or top grain seat. (Pictured
with a popular black top grain seat.) Smooth fenders and jockeys
shown. Sure enough, easy to clean! Or, flip it rough side out for more
security. And these fenders are shown as "teardrop" type
that make it easier to turn & flex for shorter legs, or
arthritic knees. The horn is there, but not so tall as to get in the way.
Most endurance saddles have a lower profile cantle. This model
offers an alternative to the trail person who might need a little
more back support. That 5 inch cantle will help hold you in the seat on steep
upgrades.
Comes with 4 strings. This skirt design gives much
freedom to both horse and rider. Add crouper rings, breaching rings,
rear dees
placed high on
the cantle if you choose. I do recommend thinking about one of our
better fleece options: thicker synthetic, or real sheepskin. Let
us know your inseam and we will be sure that the stirrups will
fit. A fiberglass covered wood tree is used for this saddle. As you
adjust position of the girth, the
saddle goes to fitting the withers and spine! This tree is engineered to
alleviate unnecessary pressures while
riding. A deep plate to cover the rigging allows your legs to
swing forward without catching rigging. Plenty of room in the thigh
area. Life doesn't get much better than all this! Let us talk with
you about your Dream Saddle!
