There are tack pictures
loading below as you read.
Dakota
headstalls and matching reins are smooth side out. They are
offered in a horse size which will usually fit Arabians taken up,
and quarterhorses when let out. You'll also see a draft version. Still, let us know what breed of
horse you are riding.
Choose your color. Any
saddle can be dyed to light oil, golden brown, russet, pro brown
or black. And the same goes for your headstall. Rough out
parts will be left natural, due to the inconsistencies of dying
the flesh side. But smooth or trim leather can be properly dyed to
match. Be sure to let us know which color you prefer if you are
not ordering a Western headstall to match your saddle at the same
time.
There are reins
to match each headstall. A good feel in your hand is accomplished
by using Lexol as a base conditioner and adding a coating of hand
rubbed extra virgin olive oil afterward. They become more supple
with time.
Would you like
for your new western bridle to last a long time? It will need to
be cleaned and conditioned frequently. We prefer to use Lexol. Lexol will darken less than any
other conditioner. It is PH-Balanced for the leather used in your
saddle. We have been using Lexol on our personal saddles for over
30 years. Lexol is best applied in many thin
layers. To darken slightly, we will add extra virgin olive oil. To
darken more, we will blend in some pure neatsfoot. The choice is
yours! Take your time and let the oils dry between coats. Your
Western headstall and reins will then blend to match your other
tack.
Remember that a
matching headstall and reins are a great addition to your saddle purchase.
It can be ordered with the saddle at the time of purchase, or
later, when your older one wears thin.
Silver patterns
can match the saddles.
With the experience of
thousands of saddles made for thousands of horse people, Cultured
Cowboy looks forward to helping you with your needs.
When riding, I
cant say enough about how important a western headstall becomes.
One benefit I like about these are the double buckle adjustments
on each cheek. This way, I can fine tune the fit of how my horse
needs to hold that bit.
A tip I was taught - when using Chicago screw fasteners, (And I
like them), put a dab of fingernail polish on each. When it
hardens, the screw is much less likely to vibrate loose while
riding, yet you can get it loose to clean tack or change bits!.
God Bless,
Cultured Cowboy
