What we've found is
that the consistency and quality of these Los Altos
Motorcycle boots allow us to be proud to provide them for
you. We're picky! How are the
heel counters made? Sturdy! Why - the heel counter that
you cannot see is what will determine whether your foot
has a tendency to break over the outside of your heel.
Once this happens, you not only lose support under your
feet, they start to hurt.
Are the soles welted
so that my boots can be resoled? Yes - This direct
attached welting
process can be duplicated in most quality boot repair
shops. Quality rubber compounds comprise the bottoms of
your boots. Worldwide, skilled labor is in short supply and Los Altos offers attractive wage - you get a better product when the
bootmakers care about your satisfaction.
The toe box is formed
to allow breathability. They do allow
air to circulate without being trapped in your socks,
will avert foot fungus, and thus will help the boot materials
to last much longer. Moisture flows through your
socks, through the
outside of your footwear. This happens with the
materials used in better dress boots. Your heel should
slip a little when you step in your new boots. This
pumps the air around your foot like the design was meant
to be. The fore part of the boot should feel like a
nice handshake.
How about the linings?
Glove linings are the norm here and the rear of the
shaft has enough support that the boot lining will not
tear with the pressures of your putting on or
pulling off your boot. You can trust these
handcrafted exotic cowboy boots to be relatively moderate in price and way above moderate in longevity, and
comfort. Also: the bed of your boot has a full cushioned
lining on the inside to prevent "kicking up of the
shorter heel pads used on many boots.
Basic Biker shaft and side piping functions to keep the top from
pressing onto
your ankles over time. The boots are engineered
through experience, to enable support where needed,
without limiting range of motion while walking or
especially running in your boots. (They break in
better.) The stovepipe tops are as soft as
will allow - meaning you can walk a lot of miles too.
Every time I'm at a motorcycle event, I spend an
awful lot of miles on foot! How 'bout you?

First, you'll notice there
is a soft sheen in Grasso Black leather. Shifts with
your feet; not at all harsh on your feet. Grasso is
very favorably comparable to better top-end Moto boot leathers. Los
Altos chose all over complementing black color. They chose no toe stitch on the
vamp because of the traditional flavor pattern.
Square toe
is tall without "slope-to-the-front" that
many wide square toes now hold. (No rubbing your
toes sore.)
Super Block heels are
comfortable to walk and give enough height to allow a
lot of arch support.
Sole & Heel compound
will add some bounce to your step. Quite shock
absorbing.

Road film, petrol, and
weather resistant leathers. Only
"better" craftsmen can produce these
biker boots.
They must be stitched
much slower speed. And there are other nuances
that take a time to accomplish!
The connection of 4
pieces of outer leather and the linings at the ankle takes a
lot of skill to produce well. (You will experience the
same ankle comfort as other fine dress boots) This
is important on those rally or party events!

actually mostly attached in a direct attach

comfortable to walk and give enough height to allow a
lot of arch support.

medial side, or side next to your body center line, is
as well made as the lateral, or side away from your
body centerline. This is important for balance. The
Full welt aligns with
other inner mechanics for your inner arch
support, especially if your riding footpegs. Look at how clean the heel base flows
into this leather sole.
This picture is a more
accurate portrayal of the boot color. Very Black. Very
much a finish to oil & keep "Grasso" OR
with polish to spit shine.
Grasso might me compared
to a satin finish paint. Not a gloss, nor a
flat.

This inner counter must be made of

joining of this top into the inner heel counter, the
softened & rolled inner side seams, and bottom heel padding,
formed to hold in place a long time without working
into your socks!

linings, the hand skived connection of inner heel

Care Products: Leather Balm Cleaner Conditioner for deep cleaning. Pulls harmful
dirt & dust out of the pores of your
leathers. You can use a worn out toothbrush to
get into the crevices.
Boot oil for moisturizing the leather.
(Leather needs moisturizers just like a ladies hands
do.)
Black boot cream (You can also use Black wax polish if ya think yer
gonna be rough on these), to protect against tough scuffs. And maybe
a horsehair dauber brush to apply & soft horsehair
finishing brush to buff out & shine.
Weather proof / Road proof with either Mink Oil or Sno-Seal
waterproofing.
Sole Dressing keeps moisture from too much wetting and
wear of the soles as you wear them through grass. Your
soles will last considerably longer by often
application of sole dressing. (Apply to sides of sole
& heel block, and can be used on the bottom of
soles, though I don't because it's time consuming to
do those bottoms.)

or in your closet.
