They aren't for everybody,
but for those that like a little spice in their
life, here's your page! In our store, we have a rack of these
additions so that a customer can see them all at
once. They often ask which style will look best.
Now, this is a matter of opinion. I have several
hatbands in my closet along with a few hats. I can
change these around and look like I have dozens of
hats to fit my mood. Same with boot bracelets, boot
belts, boot chains...whatever your section of the
world calls these decorative straps.
I have seen distressed brown
boot belts on black boots, but most black boots stay
with black leather boot straps. Com se com sa with
the browns. (Did I spell this right? Did I use it
properly? Did I say that with brown boots, some wear
black, but most prefer brown trim? I sure would hate
to show my lack of Culture!)
Black straps with nickel trim
are our best sellers. Again, put these on and
take them off as your mood changes. I often wear
them when biking, or dancing, and seldom wear them
in the store, even with the same boots.
Julian Lennon, (former Beatle,
John Lennon's son) popularized
wearing a bunch of these on the left boot only, or
more on the left than the right. I've seen lots of
male bikers wearing left boot chains, or left spurs.
I'm told this spur is to lay a rowel on the
pavement and shoot a stream of sparks way up and
back from the bike, so vehicles behind them will get
back from tailgating too close. (It might not be
wise to try this at home, or on the road. After all,
this was bar talk. Sort of like that Renegade TV
show when the guy wears a duster flapping in the
wind as he rides. I think all motorsports fans know
that those open coat tails would whip into the rear
tire and... man, what a wreck.)

Sold mostly in pairs. We indicate which
are sold each, and which are in pairs. Straps with buckles
really fasten to allow several size
fittings. Others fasten with Velcro to allow
adjustment. High quality chains. Real bones,
quills and trim. Each chain can be worn with
the ornamentation to the front of the boot
over the vamp, or reversed to be at the heel
counter, with the buckle strap over the
vamp. Wear them either way you like. Most
bottom chains fasten with lanyard snaps and
can be changed from right to left, or left
to right.

People that wear Western dress
