So we just
completed Valentines Day, or did we?
Cultured Cowboy
had probably the best V-Day sales ever. And today has been just
as brisk! It's raining over the Southeast, and I guess a good
time for taking a family trip.
This morning,
we had so many families coming in the door that people were
making new friends. Helping each other. Discussing the pros
& cons of what type breast collar to use. Everybody was
buying leather belts. I had left over candy, so every child is
getting some!
I'm behind the
hat counter shaping & conditioning a Stetson hat from the
1970's & had an audience that saw hat detailing for their
first time. (And of course, I gotta tell some of the history of
Stetson hats & Cultured Cowboy while they watched.)
I love this
lifestyle! Had a "fresh" rodeo cowboy,
Noah, come in with his "advisor". He's trying on
some Rock N Roll Denim shirts, Flex fit. He sees a package with
a really cool Southwest look. So I told him they were ladies PJs.
And told him: "If ya wanna try those on, I need to take
some pictures to show how tough you really are. Ya gotta be
tough to go on Internet wearing ladies PJs!" Tough
enough to lose the fears that might bind you.
I offered a
$5.00 discount on his shirt for the rights of his pics. He
agreed! Then his advisor wanted "in on the
action". Did I say I love this stuff? Such
great sports!
SO I buy a ridiculous
number of candy canes for Christmas season. Put one in each
child's boot till they are gone. Two boys came in with their
Dad; pulled all the candy canes from the boots and brought them
(double fistfuls in all 4 hands) asking why, & look what we
found!
Called the guy
who just replaced shingles on our warehouse, last week, from
Hurricane Heleene. (Insurance still has not paid a dime - but
did collect another several thousands in a premium due since
October) Wished him Happy Valentines Day & told him I had
the last of his money. (He had repaired broken boards under the
shingles that could not be estimated beforehand because I had
the holes covered with temp shingling rather than plastic
tarps) He said it was him & his dogs for the evening.
I felt
encouraged. I was doing the same thing. Chuck & Husky
Puppies. A "Dagwood" chicken & spinach &
tomato & Swiss cheese sandwich. A prayer of thankfulness,
then I fell fast asleep. (I did leave messages for my children
& spoke to my Mom.)
Next Thursday,
a bunch of us are going to celebrate the life of Josh Brown.
Josh recently passed into the arms of our Lord at 44 yrs. Josh
& his family are real cowboys, cattlemen, down home
citizens. His parents & I kinda grew up together.
I could go on
about this day. But, How was your day? I hope it was great. I
hope you accomplished something toward your dreams. I hope you
have a chance to tell loved ones how much you love them. I hope,
as this rain falls, that there is some sunshine happening in
your life.
Remember life
has seasons. Each can help us appreciate life.
As Cultured
Cowboy prepares to expand further into safety rated work boots
& work related cowboy boots, we look forward to helping
hundreds, thousands of you, to select the correct, the best
footwear for your purpose.
We have about
3500 pr of boots ready to ship fast. We're most excited about
our new relationship with Hoss Workboots. They have almost
everything in every category. ESD, Puncture resistant, Composite
& Nana toe, Metatarsal protection, etc. - All at affordable
prices!
And Mexico is
getting better & better at delivering high quality Western
boots. We have some exotic prints, hand made, that look as real
as real can be in Caiman, Full Quill Ostrich & Python
prints. Look for them on Cultured Cowboy's website in the
next 2 weeks.
Needing more
room to expand, we are working with engineers, civic people
& realtors to see if a larger store building can happen in
2025. We got word from the Metro Commission that sewer can
be run on the property. Greenwood City frowns on an outhouse
program. So step 1 accomplished!
I want to wish
you all a very productive, very happy season to come. We love
you. God loves you. Let's wish each other the best! May
the Spring tornados & Winter ice storms leave as many as
possible safe & loving life afterward.
(I say this
because one of the best Christmas I experienced was after
in Dec 1973, 2 tornados ripped apart, imploded, destroyed our
home, our barns, fences, everything - everything but our love
for each other, our friendships, and an opportunity to start
life anew.)
Not all days
are as much fun as this weekend has been. But I was due! Thank
you God. Thank you customers & clients. Thank you all!
