Distressed Braid and Fringed Leather Motorcycle Chaps

Be stylish while you protect those legs from wind and bugs.  A strip of handbraided leather borders the fringed cover of the chap zipper.  Quality hardware.  These chaps fit men or ladies equally well as the nature of a chap is to allow the hip and buttock area to run naturally.  Sizes are determined by measuring your waist below your jean belt line over top of your jeans.  The waist is very adjustable with belted front and laced back fastening on each of the sizes.  And determined by choosing a waist size range complementing your measurement of your thigh at the widest part of the leg.  Leather chaps come as a one size fits most lengths.  To Shorten: Try them on,  mark the desired length, cut off the excess, put a dab of  leather or wood glue on the seams at the bottom cut and wear them when the glue dries.  You can also hand stitch a couple loops through the existing stitch holes then tie the ends of the threads in a knot.  These chaps have several snaps at the bottom to allow you to cut between them to fit.  If this sounds complicated, it isn't.  Call us if you need to.  (We'll tell you all these little details before you spend your hard earned money.)   These chaps are cut on an assembly line and usually fit well, but, if you want a custom look, you need to think about our custom made to measure chap selection.  Clean and condition these leathers with leather balm.  You may use snow seal, or mink oil to weather proof .  Matching or neutral cream or wax polish can be used to enhance the color. CAUTION: all conditioners will darken the color of this leather until they dry. Expect the variations of the distressing process to become more pronounced after cleaning  and conditioning.   Darkening of the leather from body oils is a natural occurance as your body oils will keep the leather full of natural conditioners where contact is direct.

     Style 705  is made of select Buffalo hides.   Buffalo is a variable grain leather that will usually have more natural scars and blemishes due to the wild nature of the beast.  Panels of the chaps may have slight variation in appearance...more of a distressed or retro look.  Buffalo breaks in soft and fast.
