UPDATE - Justin discontinued making their famous & popular version when they became Berkshire-Hathaway. And R Watson is taking over the helm!  Cultured Cowboy has worked for several years to be able to present this patrol boot to you.

Requirements were that it had to take a shine if wax polished. It had to have a shank that didn't set off alarms at airports. It needed the accepted dress rounded toe. It needed more than normal slip resistance and enough athletic ability to allow the function it will be asked to do. The top needed to be tall enough not to hang the bottom legs of pants as you get out of your seat. Extra deep scallop to fit wider calves of the wearers. 

SO, some innovation for better function has been incorporated. And all the "old school things you love are remaining!

Proper foot care today will pay tremendous dividends in all your years to come. Cheap made shoes create all sorts of problems years from now. And soft bottom tennis shoes, designed for active sports, were never made to wear all day. This pilot boot / patrol boot allows for athletic mobility with proper arch support for all day wear.

This extra behind also keeps the rear of the boot from dirt & grime scraping in the carpets & mats of vehicles.  Real heel counter support that will not mush over in wet conditions. 
R.Watson boot company. has a "wear tested" custom made for you, sturdy, long wearing sole. Proper arch support too. Oil & Slip-Resistant. They sent a prototype in my size to try. We showed them to a lot of men who need this type footwear.

The sole is vitally important when running, or holding your footing, is important. And the durability is needed for your career purpose. This one is designed to hold, but not so deep a tread as to track dirt & mud where you don't want it.

This top averts having your pants leg catch on the tops of shorter boots. Your pants will naturally drape over, but can be easily tucked on the muddiest of service calls. 

The top allows for a wide calf, without being overly obnoxious.
