Thank You - Arles Boots!
Here are some
comparisons to please consider. The Silver Bull
first prototype is clearly marked. We like the
dark sole stitching you offer. The Silver Bull
side tab will get in the way of spur straps please
remove that one from both left & right
boots.
We like your heel counter stitching of 3 rows better
than the Justin 2 rows. . On the vamp to side
stitching, Could there be either another row of
stitching for 4 rows, or as alternative, a box
stitch at the fore most part of that attachment? Or
a rivet on this leading edge?
We
discussed providing both the corded fabric and
leather strings with each pair so that the cowboys
could choose their favorite. - I know this was extra
costs. Either antique or shiny brass eyelets
& eyelet hooks would be fine. I like the antique
you show.

Cultured Cowboy Lacer Boots - When you need better than
ordinary!
Because the cowboys
will be in the back chute areas, and it gets boggy with
cow manure & sand. This taller upper, with a taller
tongue attachment was one benefit cowboys appreciated
over other boots. We know the lower deep cut on tongue
to side is easier for entry. Still if possible to raise
that union, it would be appreciated. 4 eyelets on the
lower area is fine. You'll see the boot on left is about
1 1/4 inch taller that the prototype. And has 1 more set
of hook eyelets with that extra height. Last eyelet on
both the prototype & original have an eyelet without
hooks at the top. This works well.
The Justin original
has a slightly less rounded toe box, but I don't think
this is critical. I do think the padded tongue and sides
you provided are a nice touch. Easier on ankles!
Is there a possibility of using the padding & inner
leather you chose for the tongue lining leather, with
the same leather tongue outer as the other bay apache
parts, for a consistent appearance? This is not
critical. Could we remove the
plastic logo oval on the tongue?
Your prototype has a
finger loop on the rear of the top. I like that
too. ( Love to do that for each
style.)
However, There is a
gap, a hole, in the junction of tongue, vamp & side,
on each side of that tongue to vamp with sides wrapping
over the gap. Is there a way to close this gap to
lessen water coming into the boot through these holes on
either side of this junction? The prototype has enough
hole to pull a pencil through the openings.
As seen here, your
prototype seems to have the same quality of leather
sole. Love that your heel is also stacked leather. Just
didn't know, but thought a different angle of picture
might be helpful for your designers.
Here is a picture of
the mini-rib sole used on the second oil pullup boot
style. All the upper is the same on leather on
both the leather sole & mini-rib sole
boots. I believe Vibram made this rubber sole for
Justin. Vibram's standard Mini-rib Vibram, or an
equivalent slip/oil
resistant sole if you have it, will be good. Below is a
closer view
Next request is to
duplicate the first Bay Apache leather sole lacer with a
Black Bullhide / leather sole model. As we progress we
might as well add black bullhide with the Vibram type
sole too.
Again notice
the taller tongue, an additional hook eyelet on the
taller top lacer. The tongue is not bullhide. Having a
little grainy look to blend well would be nice. Eyelets
could be nickel finish or I do like your idea of an
antique nickel finish. A sturdy inner / outer leather
heel counter is needed on each boot style, to hold
the spurs in place and prevent early breakdown. If
you think we should, we could add a heel slip inside the
boot to cover the heel stitching & allow easier
access in & out without pulling socks much. And it
would add more structure to the rear of the lacer
boot.
You advised a better
insole was available for these boots. Lets use the
better. Any other ideas will be greatly
appreciated.
Here you can see
the double stitching to attach tongue to vamp and that
there is not the gap as junction of tongue, vamp &
side leathers.
Again, simply another
view of the boots - hope this is helpful. I know
you all have been waiting on me. Cancer treatments
are now over & I have a list of cowboys wanting
these boots.
Do you think We
should mention on our web page that these could be
available in a square toe too? Don't want to
put too much on your company to start, But I'm excited.
You reminded me that square toes are
fashion now. Moderately wide would be a good
thought., If a square toe is offered, one less
than the widest square so it can enter a stirrup easily
might be wise. Some companies are calling this a
"cutter" toe.
We'd like to know,
once we have everything in order, if it is OK to
advertise these in Rodeo Magazines, or through Internet
ads. In other words, once ready to manufacture,
about how soon could we have orders fulfilled?
Already have interest
in size13 men's, along with the other sizes.
We discussed D & EE widths 7 - 13 for
sizing. If there is a need for me to purchase the
13 size lasts, let me know. I think you already
have them as I recall.
Once established,
Could the lacers be made in ladies sizing too?
I'm really looking
forward to this! So glad I met "Joe's
Boots" in Dallas last year.

Handcrafted
Horseman & Rodeo Lacer Boots
Conservative styling, exceptional function!
The boots are cut average in
size. They allow comfortable room for your arches. Until
they break-in, they may slightly slip on your heels. (
The Cowboy Lacer Boot design is
different than a short quarter shoe, so the slipping
will not rub blisters on your heels. See the next
paragraph too.)
Proper foot care today will pay
tremendous dividends in all your years to come. Cheap
made shoes create all sorts of problems years from now.
And soft bottom tennis shoes, designed for active
sports, were never made to wear all day.

Consider this as great quality
footwear for your wife or daughter. Good arch support
underneath. Flexibility in your
movement. Soft leather is good for
feet with maybe a bunion or such. Great for
Gymkhana events like Cowgirl's Barrel Racing.
Perfect for ground training & horseback
riding.
Ladies sizes: Med
B,
5 - 10
I see hundreds of feet that
have the lateral metatarsals splayed outward, the
ligaments that are supposed to hold them in place
are strained and stretched, or have torn. Your feet
hurt. Instead, wear footwear with a little support!
Ladies,, there is almost
always plenty of room in the toe. We fit your arches
in a boot. It should feel like a good
handshake in the front & slip a little on your
heel.
Some times it's a little tight pulling on till your
boot breaks in. If you have any ?s, just call
us!

A perfect boot
for complementing your "Western Way of life".
Although a "cowboy boot"
is one of the first things you look for, when dressing
for cowboy events, people that wear Western dress boots
don't always wear them just to look like cowboys. The
arch support and quality craftsmanship allow us to go
all day without sore feet and aching backs or legs. As
you walk, Western style boots pump air around your feet,
which aids in dissipation of moisture, and even more
comfort for you. This is why you do want some slippage
on those heels.
The older I get, the more I
appreciate better boots.

Strong rear pulls. Very
durable leather sole shown. Notice the quality glove leather
linings, the extra ... inside, the soft
cushion full sole pad under your feet, and the quality
built into & through the entire sole to hold your arch
from any slipping.
Look how tight the heel
counters, heel rands and heel base fit together for
even more lateral support. When you hold the boot
by the heel counter, you'll immediately know why
these do not roll over to the outside like so many
boots tend to do. This inner counter must be made of
the best materials to withstand the rigors of tons of
pressure you will exert as you move, doing what you
do.

Continuation:
Cultured
Cowboy, (Chuck Taylor) has been designing footwear,
based on fulfilling benefits from thousands of long
term boot wearers.
Nothing
makes you feel better than giving your best to those
you love. Although relationships may change, children
move away from home, styling may shift, good feeling
boots are remembered. Perhaps this is a gift
worth giving?
Cultured
Cowboy is working very hard to make your boot dreams
come true again!
Your
outsoles work perfectly with the arch, ankle and total
foot bottom support built into each pair. Your boots
are welted so resoles are available. Notice the
quality bottom under your arches. Made for your
stirrups. This
takes an experienced craftsman to get just right. It
allows the arch support you need to be held in place
properly while suspended in the stirrup, or walking on
solid ground. This construction has been a sign of quality
since modern boots began (1800's).
I’ll admit that there might be a slight sound
as you walk till the boot breaks in, but
it doesn’t take long for that to happen. It’s the
sole mating into the stacked leather heels.
Notice
there is some relief incorporated over the top of your
arch. ..... When you feel that “Plop” into your boot as
you pull it on, you can rest assured that the slippage
is proper, and does not restrict your foot’s blood
circulation by pressing too tightly on that vein which
crosses over the top of your foot. This lacer is
designed to hold a spur securely & comfortably. Great for all day
wear. (Less
swelling of your feet.)
Linings wick away foot moisture, (without
eating socks), are throughout the entire inner side of
your boot. All the way to the toes! In fact, it’s the materials which you
can’t see, inside the boot’s inner workings, which
makes the difference between excellence and ordinary.
A
softer inner full pad is placed under your heel to
help dissipation of concussion.
By the way, Outer heels are real stacked
leather. Why? The layers of leather adjust and adapt
to your way of gait better than the non-moving
“reconstituted leather” used in “genuine
leather” (ground & glued scraps) advertised by
many makers. If
you’ve worn the best before, you understand the
difference you’ll feel from your foot bottom all the
way through your spine, as everything, (your entire
boot design), works together for your benefit.
These
Cowboy Boots are for guys & gals who wear them every day.
Casual boots. Fine ladies dancing boots. They're made to use in
arena work, stables, training, rodeo or ranching
conditions!
Hope
this reading has been helpful to you.
After all this, don’t you feel you deserve a
pair or two? Please
contact us with any questions or comments, or concerns
you might have. Everyone deserves to at least try a pair of
great boots!
Thank
You & God Bless You all,
Chuck & friends.

And the
"stuff you can't see inside your boot? They're to hold your inner arch
support from slipping, especially if your riding stirrups,
or footpegs. Look at how clean the heel base flows
into this cowboy sole. (Ya might get a little "squeaking"
as the boot breaks in, but it soon stops as all that
leather under your heel, for dissipation of
concussion, works its way into your individual heel
bone/pad structure.)

Use a leather balm cleaner/conditioner.
Finish with a boot cream made for work leathers for the duller flat

no extra S&H costs.
