Circle
G Brand Reiner Saddles are hand carved in a variety of intricate small floral,
basket and oak patterns, including combinations. Tooling is planned and carved
for each position on your saddle. This makes your saddle the
showpiece it should be. And, rather than a die cut piece of leather with
oversized conchos to
cover the gaps, each piece of leather is hand fitted and properly
molded for a tasteful and useful marriage between parts. Each
model below reflects a different tooling option using the same
tree.
Garroutte
Products will make saddles that are better than average. Better in
quality, better in fit and better in performance. Experienced
trainers can see all the advantages of owning and riding
this series of performance saddles. Butterfly skirts allow more show
blanket to come out. They allow good close positioning with your
horse. The reiner saddle series is built on a V.C. Equitation
Pleasure tree. The ground seat and rise is proper to aid you in
your riding, rather than giving an artificial, or restricted
look.
And
don't think that just because such effort is put out to make your
reining saddle look spectacular, that this saddle is not built for strength and
endurance. Unlike saddles which are made for a couple years of
showing and then to be traded, Your saddle is built on a wooden
tree; selected woods, placed in positions according to their
flexing and their rigid properties. Then bullhide covered to hold
in moisture and add life. The tree maker gives a 5 year warrantee, but this is
the type of tree that lasted over 20 years in your grandfather's
saddles.
The standard tree in this saddle is
Full Quarter Horse bars with a 3 1/2 inch height cantle, but with the
specially formed seat, you achieve the riding support of higher
cantles in lesser saddles. 3 1/2 inches of cantle will still
allow you to lean back without feeling a bite in your lower
back.
Leg
position is important in the show arena. We would like to ask you a
few questions about your leg dimensions, sort of like fitting for
chaps, so that length of leg as well as diameter of thigh are
properly positioned. With seat sizes from 14 to 17 in half inch
increments, fit can be exacting.
Rigging
is shown as a dropped dee. For the rear, In-Skirt slot rigging is
usually preferred, and is an option. Another option is a rear
ring. This is great for a rider who is using a reiner saddle for
more than arena work.
High
quality choices of heavy duty synthetic fleece, and real sheep's wool are
offered. Resale value on real sheepskin fleece is often
higher than the synthetics. Real sheep fleece has a lot of
"hold in place" and qualities of luxury on the back of
your horse, and less shock to the rider's back too.
Your saddle can be, and we prefer to ship to you, in a padded
saddle bag. If not, we line the box to maintain the integrity of
the saddle's finish. This bag will help insure the
proper finish of your investment for many years. (Note that
any leather will have unique markings, yet, tooling is used to
"pack" the leather for more integrity and to hide
natural range scars inherent in any cowhide. Even so, know that
your custom reiner saddle will only use the best grades of leather
from the start.

Today's
reining saddle is more popular with cantle as
seen here. Here you see a nice hand popped
Cheyenne roll with balanced tooling on the cantle.
Matching durable leather on a very neat horn
cap. Today's modern, (actually very old school
revitalized), bent wood treated stirrups & laced
footpads. This color and styling is also indicative of
a reining saddle being used for more than just
the show arena.
Notice
the fine tooling detail. The quality of the
Garoutte Saddles lives onward, though Dean has
now retired. Rico has been his saddler for many
years & almost all the staff including
office, have stayed on with the company.
Beautiful conchos. What
is the real bottom skirt lacing about? More than
looks. It actually is designed to move with the
horse as needed for better performance.
The top housing is sewn, but a more freedom
inviting properly hand-laced bottom skirt is
highly preferred for more ease & less
restriction over the kidney area, of intricate
movement. |
|
|
For
this model, we chose real sheepskin. Only the
best fleece hides using the thickest , most even
parts of that hide are used in the construction
of your saddle. Often takes two sheepskin
hides, one for each side. (No thin spots)
(Why the richness of the fleece used? More protection for your horse,
less physical pain for the rider over long
rides, and more slip
resistance too.)
And
take note of a strong stainless double ring
system with rear flank.

Could
your seat enjoy all day in your saddle, with this
"comfort seat"? Horn leans forward
to be out of your way.
Should
you need a hand holding on to "excited
colts", On this quality of saddle, the pocket
behind the pommel, made into the seat front is the
place to hold onto:
1) The fingers are much stronger than your thumb,
so holding onto the horn in bucking will at the
least, strain your thumb, if you don't get thrown
over the horse's head. It's purposely wide enough
to dive 4 fingers in for hold.
2) This seat combined with the jockey to jockey
leather underneath construction is strong enough
to hold your body weight.
3) Grabbing here gives you a lower center of
balance - thus making it easier to hang in there
with control over your positioning.
4) When you're not all over the place, you can
better regain control over that scared, or trying
steed!

|
The
reining saddle gullet allows freedom for the
horse, yet still maintains that "hold"
you need for those athletic movements.
Available
with specially designed nylon girth tie straps,
or latigo leather.

This
close up pic shows a small portion of the care
to detail a professional rider needs.
Notice this concho is dropped below the
connection of jockey & cantle. It IS NOT so
high that ya gotta wear a tough spot on your
body to accommodate a sloppy connection covered
by the leather seat concho! Your saddle
parts are hand trimmed to fit properly.
These
saddlers do not use the same die to clicker cut
every seat size from 14 to 17. You will
feel the difference. Your horse will be more
responsive to slighter cues.

Here's
the underside, showing the rigging. The ring
position positions the rider well. And
skirt as well as ring plates allow a good
contact with your ride.
Why
this wear plate? Look at the design. Still
closer contact, yet made to offset the wear from
swinging positions of your body as your horse
makes sliding stops & other intense
movements.

CC-420281
saddle by Garoutte makers

professional rider, Chuck Taylor, at Cultured Cowboy.

Hand
Popped & Hand laced - Strong! But a
connection you can adjust as needed over years
of riding. Stainless steel rings
& BC dees. Cut away skirts to allow
your legs the best contact with your horse. Even
the ring connector strap is
substantial! hrou |
|
You
see the Blevins fastening, and a heavy duty
stirrup strap to top off your straps'
gathering.
Look
at the underside of the fenders. NO weak places,
No inconsistency. And the stirrup straps are
only Back leather - the strongest part of a
cow. Very adjustable. Very little
stretch.
See
the underside of the laced front ring
reinforcement. Because the guys making your
saddle have so much experience with the
performance requirement of reining sport,
( realistically, trail riding terrain more than
flatland, also demands this best, for your &
your horse's best comfort & riding ability),
the connections & placements are
precise. |
|
You
see, after the conditioning comes the twisting.
Supple, because of the conditioning, this double
twisting for a short couple days will make your
mounting, riding & dismounting so much
easier. (Especially if you lose a stirrup on
your time in the saddle. Today's boots often
have wider soles & wide square toes.
Cultured Cowboy understands the need to accommodate
such fashion.
We
thought ya might like to see the process in
action. * Call us for more detail of how
to better your ride in your current
saddle.
