Ride
the beast
When
I’m shaking in my boots
like
a rider in steel chutes,
and
the unknown that I face
is
just a nod away,
I
take deep breath and square.
For
confidence I wrap in prayer.
I
may wear the spurs and chaps
but,
to God I give control.
For
bad jolts, I tried preparing;
always
stretching to my limits.
Yet,
exercise that clears my mind
must
come from Christ within me.
Cause
if I’m worth the challenge
that
the Lord has granted vantage,
I
must put all fears aside
so
this beast becomes my ride.
