THE FLITZ GUIDE
To Metal, Fiberglass & Paint Restoration

Rust Tip
When removing rust use FLITZ™ with #0000 steel wool or white 3M Scotch Brite™ pad to act as an abrasive.

Diamond Plate/Aluminum Running Boards Tip
Use FLITZ™ with a carpet swatch containing a nap or buffer to reach all grooves and crevices.  Use solvent on a terry cloth to remove black residue.

Gun Cleaning Tip
For a gun cleaning, put FLITZ™ onto a clean gun patch or felt pellets.  Lightly work into barrel.  Remove dirty patch, buff with clean patch.  Use FZ Liquid for polishing brass gun shells in tumblers.

Gemstone Tip
FLITZ™ will not harm diamonds or gemstones.  Great for solid gold, silver and platinum.

Oxidation Tip
Using a paper towel will absorb oxidation faster and will act as a mild abrasive that helps remove corrosion or heavy tarnish.

Water Stains Tip
For stubborn water stains, surface rust and lime deposits, apply FLITZ™ with a nylon scouring pad or white 3M Scotch Brite™ pad to act as an abrasive.

Counter Top Stains Tip
Apply FLITZ™ directly to stubborn counter top stains.  Leave for 1 minute and then rub it out with a paper towel.

Antiques Tip
To find out if antiques are solid metal, apply a magnet.  If it sticks the items is not solid brass or copper.

Lacquer Tip
How do you know if your metal is lacquered?  If your cloth is still blue from the FLITZ™ and the item is still dirty, then it is lacquered.  To remove the tarnish and dirt beneath the lacquered finish, you must first strip off the lacquer coating.   To remove lacquer, use acetone or lacquer stripper.

Heat Discoloration Tip
To remove heat discoloration marks (Chrome Exhaust Pipes, Stacks, reshafted golf clubs), warm up the surface, apply FLITZ™, let penetrate for 3 minutes and rub briskly with paper towel.  For extreme cases, use FLITZ™ with #0000 steel wool.  Repeat if necessary.

Fiberglass/Painted Surfaces Tip
On large fiberglass and painted surface applicators, FLITZ™ can be applied using a low speed buffer (under 1000 r.p.m.)
