Los Altos Men's Exotic Western Boots

You want a stylish exotic boot, with arch support, and cradle comfort?
Los Altos Boot Company has made a great handcrafted boot for decades.
Pricing is fair and the quality is higher than many!

We know you can find all sorts of western boots today. And to find a good pair sometimes gets confusing. Most of the major "brands" offer everything from not built so well to built very well.  This page, these Los Altos cowboy boots are targeted to those with a bit of discriminating taste.  ( Cheap ain't inexpensive! It's cheap! )

What we've found is that the consistency and quality of these Los Altos Piraruccu exotic boots ( " fish boots " ) allow us to be proud to provide them for you. How are the heel counters made? Sturdy! Why - the heel counter that you cannot see is what will determine whether your foot has a tendency to break over the outside of your heel. Once this happens, you not only lose support under your feet, they start to hurt.

Are the soles welted so that my boots can be resoled? Yes - This hand welting process takes a lot more skill than injection molding, which is why so many production brands are turning to that process. Skilled labor is in short supply and Los Altos offers attractive wage - you get a better product when the bootmakers care about your satisfaction.

The toe box is formed to allow breathability.  They do allow air to circulate without being trapped in your socks, will avert foot fungus, and thus will help the boot materials to last much longer.  Moisture flows through your socks, through the outside of your footwear.  This happens with the materials used in better dress boots. Your heel should slip a little when you step in your new boots. This pumps the air around your foot like the design was meant to be. The fore part of the boot should feel like a nice handshake.

How about the linings? Glove linings are the norm here and the rear of the shaft has enough support that the boot lining will not tear with the pressures of your putting on or pulling off your boot.  You can trust these handcrafted exotic cowboy boots to be moderate in price and way above moderate in longevity, and comfort. Also: the bed of your boot has a full cushioned lining on the inside to prevent "kicking up of the shorter heel pads used on many boots.

Decorative shaft stitching functions to keep the top from falling onto your ankles over time. The patterns are engineered through experience to enable support where needed, without limiting range of motion while walking or especially running in your boots. (They break in better.)  If a stitch pattern is more bold than your taste, Simply polish over the colors to dull them.

We trust and know Los Altos knows exotics, and you can be assured of a great experience for many years to come!

See the pics below & let us serve you!

Your feet just mold into the supple pirarucu leathers. I find this to be a leather for casual use. Others figure the price paid allows them for more dressy events!

And perfect for a hot date too!  So good on your feet, you'll have a hard time not wearing men's "fish" boots for almost every occasion!

This boot (Wide Square style shown) can be "Rock 'N Rolled" with boot trim. Your choices of toe tips, heel caps, and boot bracelets or chains.  Your choice of antique nickel or nickel, antique gold or gold tone styling will make you proud.

So, here are more pictures of the newest "craze" in exotic boots.

Front View

First, you'll notice the unique patterns of piraruccu leather. Less stretchy yet, definitely softer on your feet than many cowhide side leathers. You can compare to the soft qualities of ostrich.  Los Altos chose a top of a complementing color. They chose no toe stitch on the vamp because of the exquisite pattern. This unique top  pattern of color & stitch adds "body" to the shafts.

OK, there's no confusion to worry. This rustic cognac or antique cognac color has both names. (Cultured Cowboy is simply trying to cover all the bases of what you may prefer as this color's preferred name!)

Wide Square toe with double row sole stitching is shown.

Notice the unique patterns of pirarucu leather. Less stretchy and softer on your feet than many cowhide side leathers. The pattern kinda mimics the "anteater" of past years, but with more depth of texture.

Medial side view of your piraruccu cowboy boots.
Double Stitched 3/4 Welted sole.
And the medial side, or side next to your body center line, is as well made as the lateral, or side away from your body centerline. This is important for balance. The 3/4 natural welt aligns with other inner mechanics for your inner arch support, especially if your riding stirrups, or footpegs. Look at how clean the heel base flows into this leather sole.

Super Roper heels are comfortable to walk and give enough height to allow a lot of arch support.

Lateral View

(Any "squeaking" as the boot breaks in, soon stops as all that leather under your heel, (for dissipation of concussion), works its way into your individual heel bone/pad structure.)

Lateral view to the left.

Sometimes this combination of toe & heel style are called " rancher boots " .

Pirarucu  hide gives you surprisingly comfortable durability you'll love from leather cowboy boots. Great for "hard to fit" or asymmetrical feet because the glove leather linings & the outer leather will adapt well. The combination of boot leathers will be soft to feel, yet hold your bones in place properly.

Deep dip tops with sturdy pulls.

Look how tight the heel counters, heel rands and heel base fit together for even more lateral support. When you hold the boot by the heel counter, you'll immediately know why these do not roll over to the outside like so many boots tend to do. This inner counter must be made of the best leather to withstand the rigors of tons of pressure you will exert as you move, doing what you do.

Soles are leather 3/4 welted & stitched and can be re-soled down the road, by your preferred cobbler.

Compare this quality to any!  You'll find these a bargain at our low price of :    Only $539.99 per pair.

Available in these sizes, and widths:

Mens:

EE,  6-12, 13

You'll notice the smooth joining of this top into the inner heel counter, the inverted inner side seams, and bottom heel padding, formed to hold in place a long time without working into your socks!

Notice the quality glove leather linings, the hand skived connection of inner heel counter leather connecting to inner shaft leather (prevents breakdown), the soft leather heel pad under your heel, and the hand-formed heel rand area to hold your lateral support as it should be.

You'll be proud for years while wearing these Exotic "Fish"  Boots.

It's not unusual to get three resoles, then re welt & go again for more resoles!

Hand crafting doesn't get any better than these!

Care Products:  Leather Balm Cleaner Conditioner for deep cleaning. Pulls harmful dirt & dust out of the pores of your exotic leathers.  You can use a worn out toothbrush to get into the crevices.
Delicate cream for moisturizing the exotic leather. (Leather needs moisturizers just like a ladies hands do.)
Cognac boot cream (use Neutral wax polish if ya think yer gonna be rough on these), to protect against scuffs. And maybe a horsehair dauber brush to apply & soft horsehair finishing brush to buff out & shine.
Sole Dressing keeps moisture from too much wetting and wear of the soles as you wear them through grass. Your soles will last considerably longer by often application of sole dressing. (Apply to sides of sole & heel block, and bottom of soles.)
